Coffee & Brunch in York:

Hotel that feels like home: No.1 by GuestHouse

Slow mornings kissed by mist and light, comfy bed, coffee in my hand. All I hear is calming music coming from the record player and Bailey’s quiet snores, It feels like home.

Located just 10 min walk from York’s city center, No.1 by GuestHouse had been named as one of the top 20 hotels outside of London by Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Awards 2024 – and I totally understand why.

For me a hotel is not just a place to sleep, it’s a whole experience. I want to feel welcomed, I want to feel well taken care of, I want beautiful interiors, comfort, I want everything that’d make me feel like I’m not away from home. And this hotel over delivers in all those aspects.

Beautiful, soft and cosy bedroom, spacious and very well equipped bathroom, complimentary snack bar (something I’ve never seen before at any other hotel!), SPA treatments and of course fantastic location. The area is beautiful and quiet with a lot of parks around.

Great news to all dog ownersNo.1 by GuestHouse is not only dog friendly, they LOVE dogs and it shows. The staff was absolutely amazing, provided Bailey with everything he could possibly need for his first ever getaway, plus all the love and cuddles from guests and staff.

Dinner date at Pearly Cow

After a busy day in town, we decided to dine at the Pearly Cow at the Guesthouse and WOW. We both picked different things to share as we couldn’t decide what we wanted, and both of our meals were simply amazing. If you’re looking for a unique culinary experience that blends bold flavors with a farm-to-table philosophy, Pearly Cow is a must-visit.
