Amsterdam Guide: Hotels & Restaurants and Cafes

Amsterdam is an alluring city which has perfected the art of mixing old world charm with cutting edge cool. This eclectic city is large enough to house beautiful canals and parks, historic homes, fabulous food scene, and laid-back atmosphere – hence why it has quickly become one of my favourite cities in Europe.

I’ve visited Amsterdam twice (in autumn and winter for a NYE) and I’m sure it’s a perfect, all year round destination for – literally – anyone.

Here’s my Amsterdam itinerary:

Hotels

HOTEL PARK 6

My last-minute find and honestly one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Park 6 is a boutique, cosy hotel located about 25mins drive from Ams Centraal. Beautiful interiors, amazing staff and perfect location with everything you need nearby (cafes, shops and metro).

FOUR ELEMENTS HOTEL AMSTERDAM

Is a a scenic 10-storey building overlooking the serene horizon of IJmeer lake, with a beautiful waterside terrace & Sky Bar, chic interiors and delicious breakfast. Based in a modern district IJburg, Four Elements Hotel is fully powered by nature and eco-friendly.

The rooms are minimal and cosy, with a down to earth aesthetics graced by unique small-space design and calming neutral colours. Each room features a desk, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with shower. All selected materials are reclaimed or recycled and allergy-free tested including the linen.

Locally: Strand Blijburg Beach, The Marina Club Restaurant, Watersportvereniging IJburg (watersport rental), Barstow Restaurant, DOK48 Restaurant, Caña IJburg Restaurant, DekaMarkt Supermarket.
