Beautiful & unique hotels in London

Updated March 14, 2024

A hotel is not just a place to sleep, it is an experience — a place to be inspired and feel connected to your surroundings – period.

I personally am the type of girl that loves comfort, quirky interiors, freestanding baths with the view and always seeking this extra bit of luxury. Here’s my carefully selected list of hotels in London I LOVE:

Inhabit, Queen’s Gardens

Inhabit, Queen’s Gardens stands out as the ultimate choice due to its prime location; walking distance from The Kensington Palace, Portobello Road Market or Paddington train station. The hotel’s design seamlessly blends modern elegance with natural elements, creating a space that feels both inviting and rejuvenating. From the soothing earth tones to the abundance of natural light, every detail is thoughtfully curated to inspire a sense of calm and relaxation.

Inhabit is more than just a beautifully designed space—it’s a haven for wellness and mindfulness. Guests are invited to embark on a journey of self-discovery through a variety of holistic experiences, from yoga and meditation sessions to wellness workshops and curated healthy dining options. Whether you’re looking to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing or seeking to maintain your wellness routine while traveling, Inhabit has it all.

And of course, no stay at Inhabit would be complete without experiencing the impeccable hospitality that the hotel is known for. From the warm welcome at check-in to the personalized service throughout your stay, the staff at Inhabit goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels pampered and cared for.

So whether you’re visiting London for business or pleasure, make Inhabit your home away from home.

Barnett Hill – part of the Alexander Hotel Collection

This hidden gem, situated just outside Guildford, offers a unique blend of historic elegance, modern comforts, and natural beauty that creates an unforgettable escape from the ordinary. Surrounded by 26 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and woodlands, Barnett Hill Hotel provides a tranquil setting that feels far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The expansive grounds invite guests to explore nature trails, enjoy leisurely strolls, or simply bask in the tranquility of the countryside.

The rooms and suites at Barnett Hill Hotel are tastefully appointed, combining classic furnishings with modern amenities. The Oak Room Restaurant, with its elegant décor and panoramic views, serves a menu that showcases the finest locally sourced ingredients. From hearty breakfasts to exquisite dinners, every dish is a celebration of flavors crafted with precision and care.

The Collective Canary Wharf

In the vibrant heart of Canary Wharf, The Collective emerges as a groundbreaking concept in urban living. Far beyond the traditional notions of accommodation, this innovative co-living space reshapes the way individuals experience community, connectivity, and convenience in one of London’s most dynamic districts.

Each room within The Collective is a testament to smart design and thoughtful functionality. Whether you choose a private suite or a shared living space, the interiors are curated to maximize comfort. Modern furnishings, clever storage solutions, and tech-savvy amenities ensure that residents can make the most of their living experience.

I stayed at The Collective twice – mainly because of its location and their beautiful Skyline swimming pool, sauna, and beautifully designed rooms, etc. However, there were some drawbacks, particularly staff who are not so friendly and helpful, an overall lack of organization, and the noise at nights due to the DLR going past every minute. I stayed at both the Classic Studio 16sqm and the One Bed Flat 30sqm (Open Plan), and I would NEVER want to stay at the small studio ever again. It was so tiny and uncomfortable. The One Bed Flat (the biggest room available) on the other hand, is absolutely stunning, comfortable, and has panoramic views – so I’d definitely pick this one.
