Best of Wales: 6 beautiful beaches you’ll love!

Updated January 23, 2024

Wales has become the most desirable destination during post-lockdown and once you have stepped foot on this land you will soon see why.

Here’s the list of my favorite beaches in Wales:

Three Cliffs Bay

This, without a doubt is one of the most beautiful, unspoilt beaches I’ve ever seen. Miles of golden, sweeping sands, beautiful landscapes, incredible views, a perfect place if you’re looking to escape the crowds.

Whitesands Bay

A short drive from St Davids, absolutely stunning, family friendly, sandy beach, perfect for surfing, swim and a long walk along the coastline.

Mumbles Beach, Swansea

I love the little city of Swansea, but Mumbles Beach is just something else. It’s usually very quiet and not crowded at all even on the hottest, summer days. I personally love our little sunset picnics in Swansea. I just love this vibe, groups of friends chilling by the fire pits, someone is playing guitar, someone is dancing, some people are walking their dogs (because Mumbles is dog friendly!) – everyone’s just vibin and having the best time. I also recommend The Secret Beach Bar & Kitchen and Grape and Olive Restaurant overlooking the marina.

Blue Lagoon, Abereiddy

Standing on the cliff, looking down at the clear, blue water was just breathtaking. Spectacular views, loads of watersports activities, loved the vibe, definitely worth a visit.

New Quay, Wales

Don’t get it mixed up with Cornwall’s Newquay (although both are gorgeous!) – this New Quay in Ceredigion, Wales is a gem that reminded me of Positano, especially during sunset – so romantic! Beautiful, sandy beach and a harbour make New Quay a delight to visit at any time of year. Another reason of why you should visit this place is that the Bottlenose Dolphins are often seen here!

Fishguard Fort

Our unplanned, fortunate discovery, spotted on the way back from Solva. Pretty, little Harbour with incredible coastal views located only 40 miles from the New Quay! An ideal place for a short walk.
