We’re already into July, time flies but the good news are.. We’re halfway done with the most uncertain year of our lives! I’m sort of relieved I finally had enough time to relax after the craziest couple of months at the beggining of 2020 with our new house etc. but at the same time I feel anxious and confused, it just feels like half of the year is gone and I achieved nothing, just wasted few months of my life. But I came here to talk about all the nice things, I assume we all have enough of Covid-talks, right?
Last weekend was simply amazing because we finally got to travel to my favorite place in the UK – Cornwall. This trip wasn’t spontaneous as most of our trips. I wish it was that easy! The place we’ve stayed at was originally booked for my birthday in April but for obvious reasons we had to cancel it. All I can say is… it was definitely worth the wait!
Bluebell Shepherd’s Hut
We were looking for a quiet place and Bluebell had it all. It’s located in small, Cornish village, it’s a place a world apart from the rush and clutter of the modern holiday experience, with an atmosphere that makes you forget the world outside. The hut is tiny (max 2 people) the shower and compost toilet are based outside which was also a cool concept that reminded us of our childhood! Outdoor hot tub and log burner made it even more magical, not to mention the amazing surroundings (woodlands and a beautiful, clearblue lake!). I just can’t recommend this place enough! Worth more than a 5 star hotel stay. It’s located only a short drive from lovely nearby towns and beaches such as Tintagel or Port Isaac.

Atlantic Coast of Cornwall and its gorgeous beaches
The primary idea was to take it easy and enjoy the peace and quiet but because I can’t sit still knowing there’s just so much to explore, and Konrad loves to drive – we ended up doing 3000 miles in total.
Started off with the golden sands of Mortehoe (Woolacombe beach), then visited beautiful Tintagel and then drove all the way to Port Isaac and Polzeath and ended up in Newquay.
Something to bear in mind when travelling to Cornwall is that the weather is unpredictable so make sure you take sensible footwear (wellies/boots), a raincoat etc. During our stay we’ve experienced heavy rain, heatwave, strong winds and some beautiful sunny mornings so just make sure you’re ready for all four seasons.
