Georgian architecture, chic, cosy, romantic and charming. Bath is one of my favorite cities for a short weekend break. We spent a good amount of time strolling around the streets of Bath and so I thought I’d share my ”Best of Bath” guide with you!
Bath is pretty small and all its iconic places are located in the city centre, it’s best to leave your car ar at the Avon Street Car park (34 Corn St, Bath BA1 1UF) and walk down to the St. James Parade street – and here you are, in the heart of Bath!
Here are few, beautiful spots I recommend:
Bath Abbey
Bath Abbey is located just by The Roman Baths so you definitely won’t miss it. It’s a great place that will take you back in time.
Pulteney Bridge
Stunning place right next to the vibrant, charming Parade Gardens:
The Circus
You definitely don’t want to miss one of the most iconic spots in Bath. The Circus is a larger version of its twinning gem – Royal Crescent.
Bath St. & Thermae Bath Spa
Thermae Bath SPA is one of the most amazing SPA’s I’ve ever been to! If you stay in Bath for a couple of days, definitely book it! The views were incredible and the whole experience was fantastic. I wrote about Thermae Bath SPA here
Coffee & Dinner
Society Cafe
5 Kingsmead Square, Bath BA1 2AB
Located just 2 mins walk from Thermae Bath Spa, Society Cafe is a beautiful, cosy place with indoor/outdoor seats where you can sip your latte and watch the world go by.
Côte Brasserie
27 Milsom Place, Bath BA1 1BZ
Cote is my go to place for brunch/breakfast and I could die for their iconic French Toast! This little Cote restaurant in Bath is located in the most idyllic, tiny, cute street – I just loved the vibe.
Sweet Little Things – Tea Room & Bakery
6 Lower Borough Walls, Bath BA1 1QR
Sweet, little cafe in the heart of Bath with some delicious breakfast/lunch options and pretty, pink decor.
*BOOKLOVERS tip: There’s an amazing, pre-loved book shop just by the ”Sweet Little Things” cafe – been there twice and they’ve had such a great choice of books, well worth a visit!
Bath Pizza Co
2-3 Westmoreland Station Rd, Bath BA1 1JB
This so far is my favorite spot in Bath. Absolutely loved the vibe, the atmosphere is just sooo cosy and welcoming. I’m pretty sure this is THE BEST pizza in town. The location is great too, just a few steps away from city’s crowds.
Hotels
Bathen House
Bathen House will always have a special place in my heart because that’s where we stayed during our first Bath staycation. I AM OBSESSED with marble interiors so please don’t judge – I booked Bathen House just because of its gorgeous bathrooms. However, the whole experience was simply amazing, the staff was so welcoming it instantly felt like home. Beautiful, cosy interiors and brilliant location (5min drive to the city centre).
The Bird
Vibrant, boutique hotel ideally located in the centre of Bath but just a few streets away from the crowds. And a scintillating saunter from the hotel you’ll find the best-loved world heritage locations such as Great Pulteney Street, The Roman Baths and the famed Pulteney Weir.
We’ve stayed at the ”Feature Room” and it was absolutely gorgeous! Spacious, cosy, eclectic interiors with a touch of luxury. They say ”it’s the small things that counts” and I do agree with that! Those ”small” things such as my favorite Nespresso coffee machine or Dyson hairdryer really made me feel just like at home. And of course my favorite feature was the bath where I spent a majority of my evening, covered in bubbles, watching movies.
