Beautiful hotels are my thing \u2013 but you already know that. I love sharing my travel stories right after I get back, while my feelings are still fresh and emotions running high. And after this trip I\u2019m just full of gratitude and straight-up wow! What an incredible, history-soaked journey through the heart of Italian Dolce Vita<\/em>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palermo, the capital of Sicily, isn\u2019t a place I\u2019ll be dreaming about anytime soon. It\u2019s a cute little city, sure \u2013 but overcrowded, touristy, and lacking that authentic spark. A few cool spots to eat, some historic buildings, bustling street markets\u2026 but overall? Pretty average. I won\u2019t pretend I was head over heels, though I\u2019m sure Palermo has its fans. As for Sicily in general \u2014 I\u2019ve got a feeling she\u2019s still got some tricks up her sleeve, so I’m not saying I won’t be back! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But there\u2019s one thing that truly moved me to tears \u2014 and honestly, that\u2019s not unusual for me. I\u2019m that<\/em> person who gets all emotional while traveling. Anyone who\u2019s ever been on a trip with me has probably seen those little happy tears and maybe even thought I was a bit unhinged \u2014 I mean, who cries at the sight of a sparkling Eiffel Tower or a balcony view over an Italian bay? Well\u2026 me. That\u2019s just how I\u2019m wired \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Villa Igiea, a Rocco Forte Hotel<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Some hotels impress you with their design. Others have a story to tell. Villa Igiea does both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From morning espressos on the balcony overlooking the sea, to stunning interiors that breathe Belle \u00c9poque charm, all the way to golden sunsets over the harbor \u2014 everything about this place whispers (well, maybe shouts<\/em>) slow luxury<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every little detail at Villa Igiea is spot on \u2014 marble floors, frescoes in the lobby, panoramic terraces overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea\u2026 it all made me feel like I\u2019d stepped straight into a dreamy Italian romance film. Add to that: incredible food, an amazing hotel team, tennis courts, a gym, a spa, a pool \u2014 literally everything<\/em> you could wish for on a slow, blissed-out getaway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Villa Igiea isn\u2019t just a hotel \u2014 it\u2019s an experience. Sensual, serene, and beautifully curated. For those who live for beauty, the art of slow living, and those tiny, perfect moments that stay with you long after you\u2019ve unpacked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It doesn\u2019t happen often, but this time Iga and I spent most of our 3-day trip in full-on chill mode \u2014 lounging by the pool, going for walks, playing tennis, and having sunset dinners. No running around the city, no ticking off map pins \u2014 just slowing down. And honestly? I didn\u2019t realize how much I\u2019d enjoy the whole art of doing nothing<\/em> thing. Pure bliss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wrapped up our walks around Palermo in true Italian style \u2014 with food. Cannoli and pizza are a must for me in Italy. Here\u2019s where I\u2019d highly recommend you go:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
